If we are going to not just survive these crazy times, but rebuild this democracy stronger than ever, we’re going to need lots of big, bold ideas. Here are three!
New idea for Field Team 6! YOU have always been the stars of our circus – and right now we need an infusion of new talent to build out all our teams. Data jugglers, coding acrobats, outreach magicians, legal tightrope walkers, carnival barkers to welcome new volunteers… the dazzling volunteer staff who will allow us to run our three-ring voter registration magic from now through 2026! New idea for the national activist movement! Why not take advantage of this historic shake-up to organize a giant groundswell of support, massive enough to convince the Democratic National Committee to fund the grassroots. Out of the 1.5 billion raised for the Harris/Walz campaign, roughly zero dollars went to the grassroots. Tens of millions rained down on the usual consultant class and TV ad production. That is a disgrace. If the DNC had spent a mere 5% of its budget on the grassroots, that would have been $75 million dollars. Do you think that would have changed the election outcome? If you know how effective Field Team 6 is at registering voters, and how effective the national grassroots movement is at turning them out… It would be baffling to think otherwise. For context, in the 2024 cycle, Field Team 6 used just $3 million to contact 25 million unregistered likely Democrats in swing states and districts.
New idea for social media stormers! This is a truly original way to spread the truth and counter lies, with just enough fun mischief in it to be perfectly Field Team 6. The idea is this: spread DIS-disinformation. (In other words: information!) Start by creating an anonymous persona like MustangSally1975 that is untraceable back to you. Log in as that user. Find a conservative social media post and leave a comment, at first approaching things from a MAGA point of view, but then dropping a little truth. For example, you might post: I was SO HAPPY Trump got elected. But now I’m seeing egg prices are supposed to go up 41%?!?!? Did I vote wrong? [Include LINK to reliable neutral news source.] Once you comment, no need to engage with replies. Just move on, dropping truths behind you like Johnny Appleseed. (This idea comes from a genius Field Team 6 activist!)

#1: The Wisconsin Supreme Court. The April 1 election determines if the court retains a liberal majority or flips conservative. That court will decide election law and play a key role in shaping the '26 midterms and '28 presidential. The week of Feb. 11th there are many ways you can help: Text. Phonebank. Postcards.
