On Tuesday, Democrat Emily Gregory swung her Florida statehouse district 21 points to the left… and flipped that seat from deep red to blue. This district includes Mar-a-Lago. How absolutely wonderful is that?
Now imagine Election Day, November 3rd of this year. News rolls in that there are some ICE agents at some polling places, but the truth is becoming clear: ICE never had remotely enough agents to put a dent in the election. And from the looks of it, Americans hate being bullied, and that (and everything else) has driven turnout through the roof.
You white-knuckle it through more news with palpitations… and watch as district after district turns blue.
States too! You witness states turning blue for the Senate, first as polls close in the east: Georgia re-elects Jon Ossoff - North Carolina chooses Roy Cooper - Maine finally rejects Susan Collins - and Ohio returns Sherrod Brown to his rightful seat. Then as polls close in the other time zones, you watch as if in a dream. All we need is one more state to flip the Senate.
