MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE
How to partner, how to donate, where to protest (June 14th!)
In 1966, Mission: Impossible premiered as a thrilling cold-war era TV series and went on to become one of the most wildly successful movie franchises in history. Ethan Hunt, played in the movies by Tom Cruise, leads a fearless team on dangerous adventures to save the world from the worst villains. Crazy stunts, wild car chases, complicated plots, and countdown clocks galore. The latest film opened May 5th with a bang.
You know who has a fearless team? Field Team 6. Actually, a whole bunch of fearless volunteer teams. The Info Team. The Script Team. The Media Team. The Social Media Team. The BYOP Team. The Textbank Team. The Data Team. The Analytics Team. The Events Team. The Partnerships Team. The Newsletter Team. The Trainers Team. The Postcarding Team. The Ambassadors Team. So many teams there are too many to list! Thousands of amazing volunteers writing postcards, making calls, sending texts, and working like spies behind the scenes.
Field Team 6 has been part of The Resistance proper, pulling off impossible missions – the 2018 blue wave midterms, 2020’s Biden and down ballot wins, crucial wins in 2021, stopping the “red wave” with wins in 2022, surprise wins in 2023, and even decisive down ballot wins in 2024, and more already in 2025 – like they are a high stakes script written for us.
2024 was a crushing disappointment at the top of the ticket. But this is a “to be continued…” story, not a tragedy. A cliffhanger. A white knuckle ride to fight the worst villains imaginable.
This mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join the team if you haven’t already, and double down if you’re already on the roof of this speeding train. Volunteer, donate, and rally as many friends, neighbors, and family, as you can to your nearest and biggest No Kings day protest, June 14th.
At the end of the latest Mission: Impossible a character gives us a line that could have been uttered by any one of our own blue resistance leaders (Jason Berlin, Leigh “Politics Girl” McGowan, Robert Hubbell, Jessica Craven, Simon Rosenberg, et al). He says, “...All that is good inside us is measured by the good we do for others... Any hope for a better future comes from willing that future into being.”
This message will self-destruct in five seconds.
