This is what I’ve been repeating out loud all morning. I woke up, and the full emotional weight of our first-ever off-off-year Blue Wave hit me, and I started saying these words… then singing them… then dancing… and then doing that thing where you’re laughing and crying and singing and dancing at the same time!
THANK GOD FOR THIS ELECTION.
THANK GOD AMERICA IS WAKING UP.
AND THANK GOD FOR ALL OF YOU, WHO WAKE US UP!!!
Tuesday night kept democracy alive.
But this entire year of work is what made Tuesday night possible – YOUR WORK, our 37,000 volunteers, our donors, and our partner organizations. Together, in this last year, we sent:
1.1 million texts (362k paid + 719k free BYOP texts)
200k emails
300k postcards
…the vast majority to the places where we just won major elections: Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, and New York. We also raised awareness, drove volunteer engagement, and generated massive waves with our social media storms. And we launched the Great Registration Race, which we will build into the biggest in-person voter drive campaign in history.
And look what happened!!
Instead of Governor “Trump in a sweater vest” Youngkin, Virginia will now have Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger – as well as a Democratic trifecta, including 13 new Democratic seats in the House of Delegates.
New Jersey went deep blue, electing Navy helicopter pilot and US Representative Mikie Sherrill – and giving Democrats a supermajoirty in the State Assembly.
Pennsylvania retained its three liberal justices by wide margins, keeping the State Supreme Court liberal and ensuring voting rights will be protected and elections will be fair in this all-important swing state.
California passed Prop 50, the first major counterpunch to Trump’s attempted Grand Theft Democracy. Now California redraws its maps to counter Texas’s gerrymander, canceling out its corrupt power grab.
And New York City elected the Democratic candidate for mayor, Zohran Mamdani, who delivered a visionary speech for the ages. Among his best lines: “...We won because we insisted that no longer would politics be something that is done to us. Now, it is something that we do.”
That is the activist creed! So yes, the media may not know that you exist, that Field Team 6 exists, or that the Resistance exists. But we see you, we love you, we celebrate you! And we know that this victory BELONGS TO YOU. So sing, dance, party, rest, and as soon as you’re ready to come back to work, to volunteer, to donate, we’re HERE for it! Next stop? Taking back the House in 2026!
