As I write, news is breaking that ICE is pulling out of Minneapolis. This is a huge win for massive, peaceful protest, for general strikes, for the power of organizing. Democracy beats fascism. Love beats hate. Whistle beats gun.
And the fight continues. “Help us get ICE out of our cities” is currently our best conversation starter at a college campus voter drive. Every day, more young people understand that this is an emergency, and are looking for what they can do about it.
We have the answer! Registering them to vote is the critical step that captures this electoral lighting in a bottle. That’s why we need as many volunteers and donations as we can muster: so we can keep meeting these young people where they are, on campuses across the country, and translate their power into overwhelming victory this November.
A couple days ago, a Democrat in Louisiana flipped a state house seat from ruby red to bright blue in a 37 point swing. This is not an outlier. This is the zeitgeist.
Fascism will end at the ballot box. When we the people end it. So volunteer – donate – and together, we will register the new voters who take back the House and Senate in 8 months – that’s 38 weeks! Let’s gooooo!!!

Here are a couple things (among the many, many options) to do coming up this next week and beyond:

#2 – Saturday, February 28 at 10a PT/ 1p ET. In person voter drive training with political scientist Rachel Bitecofer and FT6 founder Jason Berlin! You’ll leave fired up, and knowing all you need to lead your own voter drive (and how you can get a voter drive kit for free)!

Ciao from Italy! I love waking up on Friday mornings to the positivity and calls to action in Jason's posts—they set such an uplifting tone for the week ahead. Keep delivering that motivational spark! I want to make sure everyone knows that US study abroad students CAN VOTE! Here in Italy we are expecting 30K (yes! that's right!) American study abroad students to arrive this fall. Voting from abroad is different than voting absentee in your state. If you know a student who is heading abroad this fall send them to https://students.votefromabroad.org so that they can request an overseas ballot. They can even do this before travelling. Then they will receive their ballot for the midterms on 19 September - 45 days before the election to give them time to get their ballot back. Have questions? Know someone who might need help?
